Monday night, ANTIFA rioters captured the University of Washington’s Interdisciplinary Engineering building, claiming that it is funded by Boeing. The protestors shouted “Intifada” and “from the river to the sea”. They donned black clad, keffiyeh’s and gas masks.
Today Is America journalist Cam Higby arrived on scene at approximately 7:50. Protestors barricaded themselves inside the building and others gathered outside creating barricades between themselves and the police.
The police made several passes in their cruisers, and eventually ANTIFA with garbage can shields blocked the cruiser in the street. They remained in front of the police vehicle for several minutes before the officer was forced to drive in reverse and leave.
Later, 3 uniformed police officers attempted to make contact with the rioters, they were met with some 30 people. The officers approached the building on an incline and were repelled down that incline as the rioters shouted “MOVE BACK!”
The officers were pushed back to a makeshift barrier consisting of a turned over dumpster, several trash cans, a bike rack and electric Lime bikes and scooters. Once the officers fully retreated, that dumpster was ignited.
A massive fire broke out nearly engulfing a nearby building. Intermittently large bangs could be heard. This was the sound of the batteries within the electric bikes and scooters exploding.
The rioters were given a dispersal order, and when the fire department arrived they refused to allow the trucks to pass. ANTIFA leaders insisted that the trucks likely harbored police officers.
They gathered rocks anticipating the police. Big rocks to make hazards in the road, smaller rocks to throw at advancing officers. “Does anyone have projectiles” one protestor shouted before another began gathering the stones.
Eventually Seattle PD mobilized towards the building and formed a line around it. They cleared chairs and tables from the entrance before marching inside. As they cleared the building disembodied chants could be heard coming through the closest door. As the night went on, those chants could be heard coming from the side of the building behind the police line.
Unmasked protestors were escorted out the back and thrown into the back of police vehicles. The crowd remained energetic, but dwindled as time went on until virtually the entire riot had dispersed.
The 2025 summer of love has begun.
